More historic Locomotive Sheds
A quieter month with Easter and holidays but still with 206 new and updated details to the engine shed database.
Again, a big thank you to the many contributors who keep sending us information and checking our notes against local sources. Sometimes the update can be just a verification or slight repositioning of the map reference, other times it can be the discovery of a missing engine shed and offer of photographs.
Please keep them coming, the great thing about the Internet is the ability to tap in to local knowledge and resources inaccessible to us many miles away.
If possible, we would prefer referenced information. Sometimes we even have the books available to us but have not fully sourced from them. Sometimes, the sources are conflicting.
In terms of site usage, we are seeing that the sheds index is being most visited which is reassuring. But apparently there has been a problem reported to us with the sitemap page. This page was built and linked specifically to allow the search robots to navigate the database. It was not intended to be used by human visitors. It is not intended to be easy to view and has been designed to be handled by the robots. It does not even include a complete list as it is self generating. Please do not use it, the search robots have priority to generate this page and any other request will be interrupted which may leave you with a blank screen or an error message.
Please use the menu and of course continue to report to us any other problems with the site.
