Latest NewsOn 15 May 2010 we commenced the slow move of the Shed data from the old site database to a new format. The reason for the move is due to structure and security problems with the old site and the continuing issue for us of collecting your valued contact emails from it.
The number of shed details that have been transferred and its progress will be indicated here. Meanwhile The Team can be contacted through the Shed Forum with suggestions for the site or with sheds that you would like to see prioritised, photographs or appropriate external links. The original database is closed to further changes but should still work for those sheds not yet transferred. 7 Jun 2010 - Quite good progress 20% complete. 20 Jun 2010 - 40% transfer milestone passed, now with all Scottish steam locomotive sheds included ... unless you know different? 4 Jul 2010 - 60% of the database transferred but now the total has changed. We would like to express our thanks to David Rimmer who has sent us a copy of his spreadsheet containing a list of collected sheds and service points. While initial examination has shown a considerable overlap with our database, we have already found many that will be new to our listing. 15 Jul 2010 - Although the meter above is now indicating 80% complete transfer, this is now misleading. Nearly all the additions since the last news update have been added from David's spreadsheet. In fact, as a rough estimate, we think we are looking at about 450 new additions to the database. |
