Locomotives of British Railways and their Shed Allocations
To search the database, of currently over 37500 locomotives and their allocations, use the form entering the locomotive number that you are looking for and click search. This page will return with the shed allocations in date order. As usual, clicking on a shed will take you to the page detailing that shed and clicking on a shed code will give all of the allocations at that shed for the corresponding year. But don't worry, when you come back here the last locomotive search will be re-listed.
The database now contains some diesel and electric locomotive allocation data. To search for this type of locomotive please ensure either its number is correctly prefixed with 'D', 'W', etc. or that a space is used in the TOPS number as in '37 512'. You can also search by locomotive name.
Your help and input, as always, is most welcome in extending this database resource.
